Thăng Long Water Puppet Theatre, Hà Nội

Water puppetry has been one of Vietnam's traditional art forms since the 11th century. It is often performed during festivals, Tết and major village celebrations. The Thăng Long Water Puppet Theatre was founded in 1969 as the Kim Đồng Art Troupe, which specialized in land puppetry. In 1993, it was officially renamed the Thăng Long Water Puppet Theatre.

Despite more than 50 years having passed, the theatre's architecture has retained its historic charm. Today, it is the venue for some of the most distinctive water puppet performances and musical productions in Hà Nội.
