Ba Vì Ruined Church

Located 70km from the capital of Hà Nội, the church lies hidden deep within Ba Vì National Park , surrounded by the dense foliage of the old-growth forest. From the 400 elevation marker, walk another 1km through the forest. The ruined church then emerges at an elevation of 800m, standing tall and proud to welcome visitors.

Ba Vì Ruined Church was built by the French colonial administration in the 40s of the 20th century. After hundreds of years of upheaval, damage and decay, the church still retains its basic shape. Compared with the past, however, the structure has taken on a new beauty—mysterious and resilient.
