Pongour Waterfall, Đà Lạt

Hidden amid the Lâm Viên Plateau, Pongour Waterfall resembles a living ink-wash painting bestowed by nature upon the Central Highlands. Even from afar, the falls appear majestic yet gentle, with a pristine, mysterious beauty that stirs the heart. The site is often praised as the “finest waterfall in the South,” an enchanting stop for countless travelers making their way to Đà Lạt.

Pongour is also known as the “seven-tier waterfall,” as its foaming white water cascades over a distinctive series of stone terraces. The tiers stretch nearly 100 meters across and descend from a height of almost 40 meters, creating a scene both majestic and lyrical. Even amid the roar of the falls, visitors can sense the gentle rhythm of the mountains and forest, where lush plants and flowers embrace the silver-white water.

Located in Tân Nghĩa Hamlet, Ninh Gia Commune, Đức Trọng District, around 50 km from central Đà Lạt, Pongour is both a celebrated beauty spot and a symbol of the Central Highlands in its most unspoiled form. When Emperor Bảo Đại visited in the last century, he was so impressed that he bestowed upon it the title “finest waterfall in the South”—an affirmation of the splendor and pride with which the falls rise amid the vast forest.
