Hồ Xuân Hương, Đà Lạt

Đà Lạt has long been a favorite destination for many travelers. This city of a thousand flowers is known for its brilliant blooms, magnificent mountain scenery, and distinctive architecture. It is also home to picturesque, dreamlike lakes.

Hồ Xuân Hương in Đà Lạt is considered one of the most beautiful lakes in Vietnam. Surrounded by a lush pine forest and a park filled with flowers and greenery, the lake has a romantic beauty. This famous lake has inspired many poets and writers.

Often described as the heart of Đà Lạt, Hồ Xuân Hương has a peaceful, romantic beauty that few other lakes can match. Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the vast green surroundings and experience the tranquility of the lake.

According to historical records, the lake was formed where Cam Ly Waterfall flowed through the area and created a stream. At the time, this was a venue for events and festivals held by the Lạch people. In 1919, French resident Cunhac proposed damming the stream to create a reservoir.

As the project continued, the area extending from Nhà hàng Thủy Tạ to the intersections of roads such as Bà Huyện Thanh Quan, Bùi Thị Xuân, Nguyễn Thái Học, and Đinh Tiên Hoàng formed a very large lake named Grand Lac (large lake). In 1953, it was given the name Hồ Xuân Hương, and in 1988 it was designated a National Scenic Site.
